Per-payment figures are the all-in total divided by 3 and rounded. The number of payments and the schedule differ by partner — Happy Pay splits over 2 — and your own plan depends on that partner's approval. You see it in full before you confirm. Fares are the lowest seen for a sample date about six weeks out, not a quote; airline pricing moves constantly.

About Pemba

Pemba sits on one of the world's largest natural bays in Mozambique's far north, and is the access point for the Quirimbas Archipelago — remote islands with coral reefs and a handful of small lodges.

It is considerably further from South Africa than the southern Mozambican beaches and correspondingly quieter.

Getting in from the airport

Pemba Airport (POL) is a few kilometres from town. Onward travel to the Quirimbas is by boat or light aircraft, arranged by lodges.

Entry requirements for South African passport holders

South African passport holders have historically been able to enter Mozambique for short tourist stays without a pre-arranged visa, though requirements have changed more than once. Confirm the current position before travelling.

Entry rules change. Confirm the current requirements with the destination's embassy or consulate before you travel — this page is a guide, not an authority.
