Per-payment figures are the all-in total divided by 3 and rounded. The number of payments and the schedule differ by partner — Happy Pay splits over 2 — and your own plan depends on that partner's approval. You see it in full before you confirm. Fares are the lowest seen for a sample date about six weeks out, not a quote; airline pricing moves constantly.

Wet season. Green and dramatic, with afternoon storms.

Currency
US dollars are widely used alongside local currency. Bring small denominations and do not rely on card acceptance.
Altitude
Harare sits at about 1,500 m, which keeps the climate mild but can be noticeable on arrival.
Malaria
The city itself is low risk, but lower-lying areas including Kariba and the Zambezi valley are not. Take medical advice for your itinerary.
About Harare
Harare is Zimbabwe's capital and largest city, sitting high on the central plateau — which gives it a mild climate year-round despite being well inside the tropics.
It carries a large amount of family travel between the two countries, and works as a starting point for the Eastern Highlands towards the Mozambican border and for Lake Kariba to the north-west.
Getting in from the airport
Robert Gabriel Mugabe International (HRE) is about 15 km south-east of the city centre, roughly 25 minutes. Arrange a transfer through your accommodation where you can; metered taxis operate from the terminal.
Entry requirements for South African passport holders
South African passport holders have historically been able to enter Zimbabwe for tourism without arranging a visa in advance. Rules and permitted stay change — confirm the current position with the Zimbabwean embassy or your airline before you fly.
