About Zurich
Zurich sits at the north end of its lake with the Alps on the horizon, and is Switzerland's largest city and financial centre. The old town is compact and the lakefront is the city's living room in summer.
It is also the most convenient entry point for much of Switzerland — the rail network reaches Lucerne, Interlaken and the mountain resorts quickly and reliably.
Getting in from the airport
Zurich Airport (ZRH) is about 13 km from the centre, roughly 10 minutes by direct train to the main station. From there the Swiss rail network reaches most of the country.
