Per-payment figures are the all-in total divided by 3 and rounded. The number of payments and the schedule differ by partner — Happy Pay splits over 2 — and your own plan depends on that partner's approval. You see it in full before you confirm. Fares are the lowest seen for a sample date about six weeks out, not a quote; airline pricing moves constantly.

About Lubumbashi

Lubumbashi is the DRC's second city and the centre of its mining industry, in the copperbelt near the Zambian border. It is closer to Johannesburg than to Kinshasa, and the route is overwhelmingly business travel.

The city is more orderly and considerably easier to navigate than the capital, with a colonial-era centre and a reasonable range of business hotels.

Getting in from the airport

Lubumbashi International (FBM) is about 25 km from the city. Arrange a transfer in advance through your hotel or local contact — this is not a destination for improvising ground transport on arrival.

Entry requirements for South African passport holders

The Democratic Republic of the Congo requires South African passport holders to obtain a visa in advance, and the process can be involved, often requiring supporting documentation such as an invitation letter. Confirm current requirements with the DRC embassy well before travelling.

Entry rules change. Confirm the current requirements with the destination's embassy or consulate before you travel — this page is a guide, not an authority.
